Videoland

Videoland is the local hero of streaming services. Knowing better than any other platform what Dutch people are like and what tickles their fancy- I tried to focus ongoing content on shows, newsjackers and the platform itself.

Apart from a small selection of ongoing content, I’ve also included a couple of smaller, social campaigns.

Ongoing content

Case: Follow de Soa

Follow the Soa was the Dutch answer to Sex Education. A show filled with angsty teenagers, trying to figure out (their) sexuality. When the main character gets blamed for spreading a sexually transmitted disease, the school is in shambles.

A perfect moment to normalise sexuality with fun memes, community posts and a little quiz. Here’s a small selection.

The long awaited fourth season of the harrowing show saw its frontrunner June stand up and become a vital part in the resistance movement in Gilead: Mayday. Fans already knew Mayday from the previous season, and had seen the trailer.

Because there was quite the hiatus between seasons, we focused on reminding fans where we left off, and building enthusiasm for the resistance theme.

Case: The Handmaid’s Tale

The first episode dropped earlier than fans anticipated, so we dove straight in with a ‘secret’ message from the resistance.

Timeline

For fans who didn’t remember how we got to season 4, we posted a timeline showing the story so far. (With a spoiler warning for new fans, of course.)

Join the resistance

Honouring the key figures, we created a story that showed pivotal moments of June, Emily and Janine.

It got fans excited to see more, and ready to take on Gilead.

Easter eggs

The show has a hardcore fanbase, so we posted some little easter eggs they might have missed.

As a streaming service, I feel it is important to act like the biggest fan of every show, so you can interact with others on their level and share their love.
